EXPLORE THE NOTEBOOK
Notes from the command line, the workbench, and the vintage computer shelf.
The tells that make people ask "did AI write this?" in short emails and messages, a paste-in style block to hand the model, and a 30-second checklist to run before you hit send.
Changing how the model answers · Note 4 ↗I want to turn the internet off for one tablet or one console with a tap, without touching anything else in the house. These are the ways to do it, from the router's own app to a DNS filter.
Stitch a folder of Markdown or text chapter files into one full manuscript, in the right order, with a title block and a word count that's never out of date.
Tools for the writing desk · Note 3 ↗Absolute Mode is a widely shared prompt that strips a chatbot down to blunt, unpadded answers, and this is my copy with notes on when it's the wrong tool.
Changing how the model answers · Note 1 ↗When a long back-and-forth with an AI finally lands somewhere good, the method is worth more than the answer. How I pull the method out and turn it into a prompt I can run again.
Building with Claude and MCP · Note 5 ↗Group the USA, Europe, Japan and revised versions of each game in a folder of backups, keep the one you'd actually play, and move the rest to a _duplicates folder.
Keeping a media library tidy · Note 10 ↗A grounded take on the "tell me what you know about me" prompt that makes the model show its evidence and admit when it's guessing.
Prompts that hold up a mirror · Note 1 ↗Empty the disk caches for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and Firefox across every browser profile, and see how much space each one gave back, while cookies, history and passwords stay put.
Spring cleaning for Windows PCs · Note 12 ↗Moves game files into Must-Play, Great, Good, Average and Niche folders using a CSV of titles and scores, with series fallbacks, so a huge backlog shows you the best stuff first.
Keeping a media library tidy · Note 9 ↗God Mode is a widely shared prompt dressed up as a cognition protocol, and underneath the theater it reliably gets deeper, more structured thinking out of a model.
Prompts for plans, apps and side hustles · Note 1 ↗Stop making admins with a SQL INSERT, give every person and script its own account at the lowest role that works, and switch off the dashboard's file editor. A short hardening list for WordPress.
The WordPress toolbox · Note 6 ↗Badges is a small Obsidian plugin by gapmiss that turns a bit of inline code into a colored label. What it does, the few conventions I settled on, and the parts of my setup that are still on the to-do list.
