EXPLORE THE NOTEBOOK
Things I'm making, documented one update at a time.
A small Python library that turns plain data into Word documents with a strict Vignelli-style grid, black-and-white charts and zero color, so every reference sheet I print looks like it came from the same shop.
The design notebook · Note 8 ↗I want to print and bind my own books as manga-sized hardcovers with the art printed right on the case, like an old library edition. Here's what that takes, before I've glued a single thing.
The security startup I build on nights and weekends, explained without the jargon: what it guards, how it does it, and where it runs.
Building G8KEPR · Note 1 ↗I've got the Gridfinity baseplates printed and the bins are easy. What I can't find is a drawer cabinet worth putting them in.
Vapor is my open-source Python app that pulls grids, heroes, logos and icons from SteamGridDB and applies them to your Steam library, one game at a time or in bulk.
Games and gear · Note 10 ↗API security, MCP security, an AI gateway and a verification engine, one at a time: what each one looks at and what it's there to catch.
Building G8KEPR · Note 2 ↗CRT 90s TV is my open-source Raspberry Pi project for turning an old tube TV into a nine-channel, remote-controlled '90s channel-surfing machine.
The retro workbench · Note 7 ↗What MCP is, how a tool's own description can be turned against the model reading it, and why a hash that's re-checked on every call is such a useful tripwire.
Building G8KEPR · Note 3 ↗A desktop app and a set of browser extensions I built for making custom profile icons and switching between browser profiles without squinting at identical avatars.
Desktop tinkering · Note 4 ↗My old notes had a pipeline that wrote and published WordPress posts on a schedule. What I'd keep from it, what I'd throw out, and how I'd use AI for a client's site copy now.
Building a site for someone · Note 4 ↗A lot of AI security tools ask another AI model to grade the first one. G8KEPR doesn't. Here's why, what it costs, and what the published numbers do and don't mean.
Building G8KEPR · Note 4 ↗DataChart is my open-source, multi-tenant dashboard builder, a FastAPI backend and React front end for dragging charts onto a page and wiring them to real data sources.
App experiments · Note 3 ↗
