Analog / Scene 2

The call center

Musical Transition: "Perfectly Imperfect" underscoring fades into phone ring

ROSA: (putting on headset, bright customer service voice) Good morning, you've reached XYZ Customer Care, this is Rosa, how can I make your day better?

CUSTOMER VOICE: (off-stage, angry) Better? I've been on hold for forty-five minutes!

ROSA: (genuine empathy) I am so sorry about that wait time, Mr... (checking screen) Johnson. I can see you're calling about your billing statement, and I want to get this resolved for you right away. I know how frustrating this must be.

CUSTOMER VOICE: (softening) Well... yeah. It's just... I called three times yesterday and got disconnected.

ROSA: That's unacceptable, Mr. Johnson. Let me make sure that doesn't happen again. I'm going to stay with you until we get this completely sorted out. (typing) I can see the issue right here...

Transition to "Hold Please": Rosa's genuine care contrasted with announcement

ANNOUNCEMENT: (over loudspeaker) Attention Customer Service Representatives: New automated chat systems will be implemented next quarter to improve efficiency and reduce human error...

  1. continuity"XYZ" placeholders still in the call-center material

Rosa answers the phone "XYZ Customer Care" in Scene 2, and the finished lyrics of "Hold Please" ("XYZ Company, this is Rosa") and "Side Hustle Symphony" ("XYZ support") still use the placeholder. Rosa's employer needs a real fictional name.
