Who's who, and what's where

An arcade deal turns into an ambush and a car chase that leaves his Prelude shot up, and the night he spends at Kate's afterward starts the trouble with Josh. He falls for Kate, lies about taking her to Star Wars, and loses both his best friend and the business in one hallway conversation. By Year Two he's selling to movie producers and music people in Orlando, buying 15 to 40 books at a time in Miami, using pay phones and seeing cameras everywhere. After the Fourth of July he asks Kate to move in, she stands him up, and he drives to Miami, where Miguel hands him over to Vasquez just before the police raid the boat. He checks into the Hilton on a Visa card with someone else's name on it. The draft breaks off with a cop firing at him.

For most of Year One she's Josh's girlfriend, and she keeps drifting toward Jordan's place. On the roof she tells him she started shooting heroin at fourteen, and about John, the boy she held every night while he was dying, before her family moved from New Hampshire to Florida. She names Jordan's thinking tree after her middle name, Marie. In Year Two she breaks up with Josh, then comes back for the Fourth of July and spends the night with Jordan. She promises him an answer about moving in on his birthday, then cancels on moving day and ends up back in bed with Josh.

Jordan pulls him into the bathroom hallway at Qball's and lays out the rules about bystanders, and Dom backs down. He's at the studio for Craig's first trip, and he doesn't appear again after that night. By the next scenes Kate is Josh's girlfriend, not his.

He flakes on the Star Wars night he and Jordan planned, and when he finds out Jordan took Kate instead and lied about it, he ends the friendship and the business in the school hallway. By Year Two, word is he's selling crack, has been kicked out of school, owes people money, and has dropped Jordan's name. Jordan quietly sends him money through Kate. The last time we see him he's shaking in a corner while Kate cancels on Jordan.

He and his friends drop at the studio, and Craig is the first to feel it, saying everything twice.

Jordan thinks of her as his wild card: the sheriff won't send officers into a house where his daughter might be carried out on the news, not in an election year. After her father is re-elected, Jordan calls him and sends her home. He hears later that she's doing well in school and got her scholarship back. The draft calls her both Eliza and Aimee.

He never appears on screen in this draft. After he's re-elected, Jordan calls him to come get his daughter, and he's waiting downstairs when she comes down with her bags.

Jordan beats him twice on random select and leaves. As Jordan walks out, Rufus makes a phone call, and a Buick is on Jordan's bumper a minute later.

Kate says Josh has no reason to be, since Theron is gay. Later, when Josh hears Jordan on the phone, Kate tells him it's Theron.

He came home from New York HIV positive and was turned away by both of his remarried parents. Kate met him at his best friend's funeral, ran away to live with him, and held him every night. He died of an overdose, and she woke up next to him.

Jordan keeps the joke going the next morning with Josh, which nearly gives him away.

He trades insults with both of them, uses slurs, and threatens push-ups and failing grades. He turns up again right after Josh ends the friendship.

In Year Two he moves into Jordan's living room. He won't come along on business because his dad's a cop. On the Fourth of July he wants to fly off the roof, and Kate talks him into test flights from the ground first.

On the Fourth of July he and Isa stay downstairs while the others go up to watch the fireworks.

She spends the Fourth of July wrapped up in Jack, making paper airplanes.

He's getting out of the game with a baby on the way, and this trip is to hand Jordan over to his people. When the police raid the boat he stops to grab a load of books, gives Jordan one of his two guns, and is shot in the head on the way out.

He'll call Jordan, never the other way around; late, early, or carrying anything electronic means death. When the police come aboard he refuses to drop his gun and fires first.

He fires two rounds through the Daytona's driver's window and drives off as the light turns green. The posted draft doesn't yet say who he is or who was in the car.

In Year Two he moves into a studio downtown and lies low here while the money comes from Orlando.

Jordan meets Craig at the door here and walks him out to his car, a shot that mirrors the gunman in the cold open.

It has a bedroom, a dining room, and a kitchen window onto the overhang above the front door, where Kate tells Jordan her story. A park across the street holds his thinking tree.

Chris sleeps in the living room and Jack in the coat closet. The Fourth of July trip happens here, and so does the morning Jordan asks Kate to move in.

The deal goes fine inside. The parking lot is another story.

He drives over with his windows smashed and a crowbar stuck in the door, and cries into her neck in the driveway.

They settle it, set up a first-timer named Dallas, and make plans to see Star Wars.

When a couple takes their seats, Jordan and Kate watch the rest of the movie from a stool and an upturned bucket in the aisle.

It's where Josh finds out about the Star Wars night and ends everything, down the A-wing hall from a vending machine.

Kate takes Jordan's call here on moving day, with Josh shaking in the corner, and that night her phone buzzes unanswered while she's in bed with Josh.

His last run takes him to the Hilton, a Subway across the street, and a boat at the dock.

The desk won't take cash, so Jordan pays with a Visa card that reads Dallas Cruz and gets a top-floor suite.

Past the kitchen is the warehouse room where the product is stored. It's where the raid turns into a firefight.

Kate names it Marie, after her own middle name. Sitting in its roots, Jordan tells her he's fallen in love with something he can't have.

In Year One he picks up books at the Miami seaports and sells the sheets for $300 apiece, keeping some for sales and some for fun. By Year Two he's buying 15 to 40 books at a time.

After the arcade ambush it has bullet holes, smashed windows and a crowbar stuck in the door frame, and it's barely running. He drives it to Miami anyway, and Miguel asks what happened to it.

Two rounds go through its driver's window, and a man spills out of the passenger side. The posted draft doesn't yet say whose car it is.

On the boat Jordan admits it has no firing pin, and Miguel swaps it for one of his own.

Josh doesn't show, so Jordan takes Kate, who has never seen it. Jordan thinks the remastering is good and the added footage is horrible.

Jordan rams their car, pinning the passenger's leg in the door. The driver smashes the Prelude's windows, leaves his crowbar stuck in its frame, fires five shots into it, and chases Jordan through a string of red lights until he wrecks into a parked car in a dead-end neighborhood.

They shoot the ship's security guard on the way in, then trade fire with Vasquez and his men. One of them kills Miguel.
